A story of how we met, what happened and how things don’t always go to plan.
I first met Sarah at a vintage wedding fayre I had attended a few years ago now, and for Sarah it was love at first sight she was as excited as i was, She knew what she wanted, whilst speak i was noting down details as she mentioned them.
Sarah had a passion for books, love stories and learning, she was inspired by what I could make for her and chose her flowers to me made from her favourite book June Austen’s Pride and Prejudice (love it), Sarah also went on to provide the books, not something that normally happens, buts Sarah said she had too many of the same one anyway, and thought this was a better way to use them (each one of them had been read a number of times).
Every member of the wedding party was going to have something, from bouquets bridal and Bridesmaid to buttonholes & corsages
We kept in touch throughout the process, I sent Sarah updates on how the make was going, Sarah even added and took away things as things changed in her wedding, and I was more than happy to help any way I could. I love the experience I get when I work with my brides, each one is different, plus I get to know you a little bit more.
During the emails we exchanged, Sarah asked if I would be able to set up the venue for her, with the flowers I had made for the pew’s and some beautiful Ivory stand flowers, This was no problem, the venue was local, and I was excited to see the flowers in place and help on the day.
That morning was very rainy, the worst I had seen in a long time (rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck), I arrived early to set up, and everything went beautifully. Just as I was leaving the groom and his family arrived (I never get to see this and was super excited about it). seeing the excitement and nerves, I quickly said everything was done, wished his a happy day and went on my way
And was that…only joking, a few weeks passed and I had a wonderful review from Sarah she said
“So pleased with my bespoke flowers – they were even better than I could have imagined. They looked amazing in the photos and so many people loved them. Thank you – a professional, great value supplier“
I also received an email from Sarah telling me how wonderful the day had been everything had been perfect, apart from one little mishap… Tom in all his excitement to marry the love of his life, had forgotten to pick up all of the buttonholes, and so they had to improvise, they had to take apart the pew decorations and fashion on of the roses into a buttonhole for James to wear.
This made me chuckle, it just goes to show that all the best laid plans can still go a little wrong, but it also reminds us that in the end, its the marring the love the love of your life part of your wedding day that counts the most.
